Meet the Principal
Holly Lyman is entering her 20th school year working in the Rockford Public Schools and her 5th year as Rolling Green Elementary School’s Principal.
In her 15 years in administration, she has previously served the district as the Principal of Nashold Elementary School and has also supported special education programs district wide as a district special education administrator.
Ms. Lyman completed her undergraduate work in Special Education at Northern Illinois University. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from National Louis University. In addition, she also holds a Certificate of Graduate Study in Special Education Administration and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration along with her Superintendent’s endorsement from Northern Illinois University.
Ms. Lyman’s educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and overall student well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn when given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed educational team of supportive adults, an encouraging community, and a supporting family. All of which the Rolling Green community possesses.
Ms. Lyman enjoys cognitive challenging brain games, being outdoors and spending time with her family. She and her two daughters are very active members in local Girl Scouts troops. She lives her life believing that even our youngest citizens can make big changes in their community. This is a value she has worked to instill in both her own children and her children at Rolling Green Elementary School.
